Batik and Ink Painting: Revisit memories and create a lifetime piece from photographs by using the ancient and cultural technique of hot wax batik and ink painting, using specialist tools known as tjanting to draw wax onto silk and canvas you will design a patterned image and develop the painting using coloured inks. Outcomes can be either detailed or bold and adventurous depending on your preference. All equipment provided on the day ( own photographs ).

29/03 Memory Lane Batik and Ink Painting
You will be welcomed on arrival and shown around the tranquil setting of Uncles Farmhouse. Tea and coffee will be brewing, and a range of Yorkshire biscuits and cakes will be available, but make sure you leave a little space for lunch!
Your chosen workshop session will start at 10am when all guests have arrived and parked their vehicles. The session will run at your pace and there will be plenty of time to discuss techniques and methods with the tutor or fellow students. Throughout the day, tea, coffee and a range juices are available, alongside a selection of cakes and biscuits. At lunch time, a hearty meal is enjoyed with baking to finish. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements, so that we can arrange for your needs on the day. Time is set aside for conversation and discussion about the morning’s activities. Our meals and sundries are all made using locally sourced meats and baking ingredients here at Uncles or by our local caterers, Karen Chapman and Amy Poulter, both of whom are renowned for their secret ingredient recipes’, and all of our eggs are from our free range Uncles Hens. The activity will continue into the afternoon when participants will master their chosen technique, finalise their creation and conclude a truly wonderful experience, before departing when ready on a safe journey home.
